The Hadith-authority Salaahud Deenul Alaa'iyy (d. 1360; 761 AH) spoke at length praising this Creed and called it The Guiding Creed or alMurshidah or alMurshidiyyah. AsSubkiyy agreed with al Alaa'iyy to call it The Guiding Creed and listed it in full in his book. AsSubkiyy said: The author of this Guiding Creed followed the correct method and straight creed and was successful in the way he cleared Allah, the Exalted, of similarity to the creation. He said at the end: This is the end of the Creed and it contains nothing that a Sunni [Muslim] rejects. The historian Taqiyyud Deenul Maqreeziyy (d. 1441; 845 AH) said: When Sultan Salaahud Deen Yusuf ibn 'Ayyoob (d. 1193; 589 AH) became the ruler he ordered the adhaan-callers [mu'adhineen] to recite from the minarets during the last third of the night the creed known as The Guiding Creed. The mu'adhineen continued reciting it every night from all the mosques of Egypt until our time.

The historian Abu Shaamah (1202-1267; 599-665 AH) said: He is the nephew of Abul Qasim `Aliyy ibnul Hasan ibn Hibatullah ibn `Asakir (1105-1176; 499-571 AH) who was one of the most prominent Hadith-authority scholars in ashShaam during his era. Imam Taajud Deenus Subkiyy (1328-1370; 728-771 AH) said: He is the last one [of the scholars] who was granted both knowledge and practicing it. The notable figures of his era agreed to honor him for having great comprehension and piety.
